A professional mover will be licensed and registered with the California Public Utilities Commission, which is the governing entity for the entire California moving and storage industry. Any professional moving company must comply with the laws set forth by the C.P.U.C., making them a credible and trusted source of service. Also, look for movers who belong to the BBB (Better Business Bureau), AMSA (American Moving and Storage Association), and the CMSA (California Moving and Storage Association).
We can give rates and set up moves over the phone or online, but we cannot give estimates this way. There are too many variances from move to move to rely on a basic description. Factors, such as volume, amount of dismantling/reassembling, access, etc. can adjust the cost of a move substantially. Being unprepared for a move can be the biggest mistake anyone can make.
Estimates are not required for your move, but will give you a cost figure for your individual move. It will also benefit both the mover and you in being properly equipped for the task at hand. Estimates are free and we try hard to make your experience as non intrusive and stress free as possible. Getting estimates from potential movers will give you a strong impression of the people you are trusting to handle your worldly possessions. Never accept or abide by an estimate given over the phone or online. It is impossible to factor all variables of a move without physical inspection.
You can obtain information about a potential mover by visiting the C.P.U.C. website or by calling them at 1-800-877-8867.

You have many options in regards to storage. It’s up to you to decide what will work best for you. Our storage facility is state of the art. We utilize climate controlled, private storage. All household goods are inventoried and stored in wooden vaults (5’x7’x7’ in size). We provide all necessary protection for articles stored in the vaults. We do not allow customers to load their own vaults, this means you can trust that anything in our warehouse is safe and inspected. Our facility is secured by Bay Alarm, with security cameras in place. Delivery of your household goods is just a phone call away. Please feel free to drop by during normal business hours (8am-5pm Mon.-Fri. closed for lunch from 12-1) for a tour of our facility. (190 Foss Creek Circle Ste. K, Healdsburg, Ca. 95448)
For your household goods, we provide the industry standard valuation protection at no additional cost with your move. This is $.60 per pound, per article, coverage. We also have additional coverage available to you. We offer “Actual cash value,” and “Full replacement value,” valuation. Our sales consultants or crew leaders can help you in deciding what type of valuation is right for you.
The best way to cut down costs for a local move is to reduce the amount of time required to complete your move. The key element to a safe and cost efficient move is organization. Having everything packed up and ready to go is very important. A step further would be to dismantle beds, dresser mirrors, etc. before the movers arrive. Even beyond that, some customers opt to move small items and boxes themselves, having a mover only move large items that they cannot handle. Another suggestion is to be available to your movers. Being able to answer questions, or direct in the placement of furniture at your new home will also help move things along.
Local moves are charged by the hour. Long distance moves (anything over 100 miles from origin to destination) are charged by the weight. Packing services are charged by time and materials.
